      Youth Mental Health First Aid (YMHFA) - 2 Day

      Youth Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) courses are for everyone who works with, lives with or supports young people aged 8-18. They will teach you the skills to spot the signs of mental illness in a young person, offer first aid and guide them towards the support they need. In doing so, you can speed up a young person’s recovery and stop a mental health issue from getting worse. Sarah Taylor Robinson has over 10 years experience of delivering Mental Health First Aid Courses. Our Youth MHFA Two Day course qualifies you as a Youth Mental Health First Aider. You will need to attend both days to pass the course - The 2nd day is 1st May Youth Mental Health First Aiders have: An in depth understanding of young people’s mental health and factors that affect wellbeing Practical skills to spot the triggers and signs of mental health issues  Confidence to reassure and support a young person in distress Enhanced interpersonal skills such as non-judgemental listening  Knowledge to help a young person recover their health by guiding them to further support – whether that’s through self-help sites, their place of learning, the NHS, or a mix – engaging with parents, carers and external agencies where appropriate Ability to support a young person with a long term mental health issue or disability to thrive Tools to look after your own mental wellbeing  SPACE IS LIMITED - BOOKING IS ESSENTIAL  FAQs  Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event? Young people are welcome on the course but if you’re under the age of 16 we need consent from your parent or guardian   What are my transport/parking options for getting to and from the event? We have ample free parking on site, the venue is on a limited bus route What food and drink will be provided? We provide tea and coffee through out the day, Lunch is not included however you are welcome to bring your own lunch. There is great cafe on site that we do a pre order with at the start of the day.
